On December 3rd, 2025, Archbishop Spalding High School hosted its annual blood drive, which was organized by a group of students: Piper Andros, Bryan McKernan, Grace Reinicker, Morgan Bucht, and John Robuck, along with The American Red Cross. Many students signed up to donate blood during the school day and afterward to help people in need. Students involved in organizing this event printed posters and hung them around the school to gain people’s interest. There were emails and QR codes on the signs, encouraging students to donate blood and to set up appointments with the Red Cross. The blood drive was held in the New Gym, where all donors, workers, and other students who participated were during the day. After giving blood, there was a snack/drinks table and chairs for anyone who needed to refresh or replenish before continuing their day. This year, donors who gave blood received Red Cross socks and a Pac-Man toy, cheering donors. This event helped to inform students, faculty, and staff about the importance of helping others and donating blood. This annual event has helped show Spalding’s One in Christ motto, with students showing enthusiasm for the drive, demonstrating neighborliness by helping those in need and struggling during the winter season, and taking ownership by engaging in the drive. It was again a success and had a great outcome.
