As the 2025-26 school year comes to a close, so does this chapter of life for the class of 2026. It feels as if the fall of 2022, when we were walking into Spalding for the first time, was yesterday. These four years have flown by so fast. The thought of senior year or just high school in general can be super stressful. Some thoughtful seniors have shared their advice that they have learned through their 4 years at Spalding:
“It takes time to find your people, your routine, and what you actually care about, so give yourself that time, and don’t be afraid to get involved, even if it’s uncomfortable.” – Samantha Patterson ’26
“At Spalding, it’s important to get involved in a sport, club, theater, etc. It’s a great way to expand your horizons and get out of your shell.”- Addison Ritter ’26
“At Spalding, make sure you balance your grades and friendships because both are important and will help you throughout your years.” – Madison Jones ’26
“At Spalding, make sure you don’t cut the wrap line as a senior, Mr. Bauer will get mad and send you back to the back. It’s not worth it!” – Adrianna Perez-Alard ’26.
“At Spalding, don’t be boring during Spirit Week. It’s way more fun to go all out!” – Roarie Carmody ’26
“Be kind to your future self and soak up every moment, even the bad!” – Olivia Hoffman ’26
“Be respectful to all your teachers!!” – Ashley Laycook ’26
“Don’t change who you are and make the most you can out of high school” – Eli Chesla ’26
“Don’t leave Spalding wondering, give everything a shot” – Johnathon Bromley ’26
“Give your worries to God, and stay true to yourself!” – Anami Canterna ’26
“It’s pivotal that you have a safe and great time. High school is a great time to hang with friends, try new things, & discover yourself. Embrace the changes you are stepping into & use your freedom wisely.” – Aaron Igwebe ’26
“Keep a positive attitude and don’t bring others down!” – Josie Phillips ’26
“Always take the opportunity to hang out with your friends and go out because it goes by quicker than you think.” – Colin Reilly ’26
As the Class of 2026 prepares to walk across the stage and step into the next chapter, their advice leaves a lasting impression on underclassmen: don’t rush the experience; those four years go by faster than anyone expects. High school is not just about getting good grades or college plans, but about making memories with family and friends that will last a lifetime. Before you know it, you’ll be the one walking across that stage, moving on to the next chapter of life.
