On the 29th of October, Spalding welcomed future Cavaliers and their families into the building for the annual Open House! Around 450 families attended, and 15 of them were legacy families. They started in the Performing Arts Center with a welcome from our administration. Then, they were assigned to groups with student guides and a teacher to commence their tour of the school. We were so lucky to have 230 students volunteer on Sunday morning to help with tours, demonstrations, and musical performances! Tour groups visited a class from each subject and a teacher was in the classroom to give a 4 to 5-minute presentation on all the things that the subject has to offer. They also explained the classes the prospective students would take during their four years at Spalding. At the end of the tour, they were guided to the New Gym which had over 60 booths that the families could go to. The clubs had a teacher who ran the club and a few of the students involved, so the families could ask questions if needed. The sports booths had the coach, and a few players at the booth, to give the opportunity to advocate for their team and convince the people to play their sport. Of course, on the way out the the families were able to get free Kona Ice. Overall, this Open House was a success and we hope to see some of these students in the upcoming years!
