This fall, the Archbishop Spalding community assembled to collect 6,025 food items (4,239 pounds) to the Anne Arundel County Food Bank. This is such a testament to our motto of living as “One in Christ.” Throughout the weeks of gathering goods, students encouraged fellow students to think beyond their personal needs and live out God’s mission for us. Matthew 5:16 states, “Let your light shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your father who is in Heaven.” One of the fundamental parts of living as “One in Christ” as a Spalding student is to help others even in the simplest manner.

All of our grades made a significant difference, but we the students are competitive, therefore we give credit to the winning classes. The Freshman class led the way collecting 2,905 items, and  the senior class followed collecting 1,499 items.

First place went to Mr. Sturgis’ homeroom, collecting 1,560 total items, which is 60 items per student! Honorable mentions go out to Ms. Malcolm’s homeroom with 746 items, Mrs. Connor’s homeroom with 346 items and Ms. Regan’s homeroom with 258 items. Thank you Spalding for continued commitment to our daily mission of living as “One in Christ.”
