Girls Swim Season:
The Girl’s Varsity Swim team makes history again, concluding this year’s season with great performances, gratitude, and endless memories! The 2024 season was sure to be proud of, filled with many accomplishments such as victories, broken records, and prestigious team development. The season started with excitement and joy following the first dual meet victory against longtime rivals Mcdonough. The positive environment of this meet was electric, leading to fast times, loud cheering, and the heavy honor of being a Lady Water Cav. The girls continued the winning streak onto the next five dual meets, ensuring the first undefeated season in decades! However, the victory over Spalding’s most competitive rival, NDP, was the team’s most honorable memory and will always be cherished. Winning that meet truly sparked some fire in all of the girls. It was a true victory that brought the team closer together—besides having an undefeated season, the girls also accomplished various goals set at the beginning of the year. One accomplishment was reaching 400 points at the IAAM swimming conference champs. The conference championship was one of the girls’ most historic meets, finishing with five broken school records and 10 podium finishes! Here are some of our podium finishers:
Ashley Connor – 200 IM – 2nd Place and Team Record – 100 Back – 2nd Place
Natalie Lomonosov – 50 Free and 100 Fly – 3rd Place and Team Records for both
Charlotte Hale – 100 Free – 2nd Place
Paige Addleman – 100 Back – 1st Place and Team Record
Maggie Jaeger – 100 Breast – 3rd Place
With so many unforgettable memories, this season was one to remember and honor. The coaches and swimmers congratulate all seniors who will continue on to the next chapter of their lives and wish them the best of luck! The Lady Waters Cavs are excited to see what the future holds and are looking forward to next season!
Boys Swim Season:
This year’s swim season was fast and full of personal bests and records for the boy’s Varsity and JV Teams. Boys Varsity won more meets than in previous years and had a winning season for the first time in program history. Varsity boys went 3-2, beating Loyola Blakefield for the first time. JV put up an impressive season and also won meets. Captains Lawson Cate, Josh Mundy, and Billy Connor led this year’s teams. These captains motivated the team and got the team up and cheering. Boys Varsity placed fifth at the MIAA Championship Meet as the last relay was unfortunately disqualified due to a false start. Boys JV and Boys Varsity have continued to grow and improve every year under the unmatched coaching of Spalding’s Coach Chip. We are very excited about next year and wish our seniors the best of luck in the next chapter of their lives! Congratulations to the following swimmers who broke school records:
