Once upon a cold February night, Spalding students performed the night away. They brought down the house with a variety of rock ‘n roll, breakdancing, piano duets, and singing. The audience was captivated by their musical prowess and their on-stage performances. Each performance was stunning, and each group brought something truly unique to the table. This year’s annual Variety Show is one the crowd will never forget.
The show opened its curtains with Teacher of the Year, Shawn Heming’s guitar ensemble shredding it to Metallica’s “Master of Puppets.” Some other highlights of the performance include brother duo Simon and Jude Greene’s spectacular and very lively cover of Foo Fighters’ “Walk,” Jay Donyinah showcasing his extraordinary breakdancing skills, Sasha Russey and Anthony Shaffer’s rendition of the whimsical classic “Hungarian Dance No. 5,” and 4 Dudes’ breakout hit with Heart’s “Barracuda.” The show’s climax was the performance of the fan-favorite Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody” by Gavin Flynn, Sasha, and Eli Zapata.
