Spalding’s CyberPatriot team competed in their last season competition on Friday, December 16. CyberPatriot is a cybersecurity competition where the team receives 2 to 3 virtual machines (images) and has to fix vulnerabilities found in the machine. These vulnerabilities could be things such as an unwanted user on the network, a user having a weak password, applications needing to be updated, or as simple as turning on the firewall. The Spalding CyberPatriot team started back up after Covid at Spalding two years ago, consistently participating in three competitions a school year. This competition was the hardest this year, with the team getting 65 points overall across Windows 11, Windows Server, and Ubuntu (a version of Linux). The team members (some pictured above) are very proud of their work and want to thank Mr. Restly for being an excellent moderator for the CyberPatriot team.
