On Saturday, February 24th, Spalding Lumberjack Club members Patrick Kiely ‘24 and Eli Busse ‘25 spent the morning at The Shrine of the Little Flower, serving up free pancakes and smiles for Baltimore City residents. Busse says, “Patrick had the idea to host the breakfast in light of a car crash that happened [earlier] … we just wanted to give back to the community.”
Kiely and Busse were also joined by former Spalding chaplain, Father Evan Ponton, as well as students from The Catholic High School of Baltimore and Mount Saint Joseph High School. Just hours later, Busse played in the MIAA Basketball Championships against Mount Saint Joseph and said, “Even though we may be rivals as schools, it was nice to come together as one.”
We are so grateful that these two students saw a chance to make a positive impact and took that chance!
