Comfort Cases is a fantastic club that helps children in foster care. The club was started by Kylie Horter (’23). They build backpacks and then drop them off at the Comfort Cases organization in Gaithersburg, Maryland. Molly Youngblood (’24) became the president of the club this year, with the help of Emily Muir (’25), Erin Shepherd (’24), and Natalie Moreland (’24), who all helped run the build day. The club was able to build 130 backpacks this year. Any student is allowed to join the club, and they can help on the build day. This year, about 50 students helped create the backpacks. All sorts of things filled the backpacks, including pajamas, a blanket, a toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, body wash, a stuffed animal, a coloring book or notebook, crayons or pencils and pens, and a book. This is an incredible club that has helped so many children in need. If you’re interested, then don’t hesitate to join!
